The Boarding house Udden owns approximately 70 ewes.
The majority of our sheep consists of the breed (Åsenfår),
a Swedish breed of which there are only 970 individuals
left in the whole country.
Åsenfår is a relatively small breed which makes them easy to handle. The rams grow large beautiful horns, which we use to make wonderful handles for herding sticks.
We also have Gotlandsfår, twice as big as Åsenfåren.
The choosing of breeding stock is through very strict selection as lambs.
The wool is used for spinning and filting.
